Alconbury Parish Council Mission Statement
Alconbury Parish Council serves to represent the interests of the community of Alconbury.

Our aim:

To enhance the quality of life and the local environment for everybody.

To help us meet this aim, our parish councillors will:

- work closely with District and County Councillors, local community groups, local businesses and most importantly with local residents;

- spend our budget wisely and seek best value for money;

- engage with external funding providers to maximise our potential as a public body and increase our spending potential for the benefit of the community;

- contribute positively to major issues that could affect the environment within which we live, such as the re-development of Alconbury Airfield, the A14 realignment and flooding from the Brook;

- support local groups in the village whenever possible;

- promote a safe environment for the residents of Alconbury by working with the Police and Neighbourhood Watch

- monitor and maintain our assets and infrastructure such as the village green, play areas and the sports field and the general upkeep of the village;

- continue to promote new initiatives that improve village amenity and the wellbeing of residents, for example the allotments, community orchard and Bramble End Playground;

- promote events that bring the community together using the facilities available within the village;

- keep residents informed of community news and initiatives via our website and our bi-monthly newsletter;

- maintain our status as a Quality Council.
