ALCONBURY PARISH COUNCIL
RFO's Report – 2007/2008

The Parish Council has been called to audit for the financial year 2007/2008 for 1st June, so the Annual Return will be agreed and signed at the AGM immediately following this Parish Meeting. I am very pleased to say that Mr David Armstrong agreed to continue to act as the Council’s Internal Auditor for another year, and I would like to take this opportunity of thanking him for his continued support in this role.

The Precept for 2007/2008 was £24,000. This equates to an annual charge of £43.40 Council Tax for a Band D property.

During this financial year the Parish Council has contributed £1,162 towards the speed restrictions along The Great North Road. The majority of funding for this project has come from a grant from Cambridgeshire County Council. A reserve of £2,500 has been made to go towards the improvements in Maypole Square. The remaining majority funds for this scheme have come from Huntingdonshire District Council. The Parish Council has continued to support various groups in the village or organisations supporting Alconbury residents and has donated £1177 to such causes.

At the end of the year the Parish Council is holding £12,500 in reserve for the Youth Group, and there is £8,500 in the general reserve.
