4. Responsible Finance Officer’s Report
The Responsible Finance Officer presented her report as attached to these minutes.
5. Reports from District and County Councillors
A report had been prepared by District Councillor Keith Baker which was made available to all Councillors and members of the public. He emphasised the major concern about speeding traffic in the area and the amount of HGVs on local routes.
County Councillors Peter Brown and Laine Kadic had also prepared an annual report which was made available to everyone. Councillor Brown thanked the Parish Council for their help and co-operation during the year and acknowledged that there were still many on-going issues such as the closure of Truckstop and the problems experienced as a result of this. The County Council felt that the provision of Truckstop sites was now a national issue which needed a clear government policy. They would also continue to support the Parish Council with the planned re-routing of the A14 and any possible closure of Post Offices within in the area.
6. Public Discussion
Mr Hodgson expressed his continued concern about the problems around the old Truckstop site. He had been in touch with the police and suggested that double yellow lines along the slip road would enable them to enforce a no parking policy. He had also been in contact with the Health and Safety Executive concerning the way the containers were being stacked on Alconbury airfield. They would be visiting the site and Mr Hodgson would keep the Parish Council informed of the outcome of this visit.
Mrs Watkin informed that meeting that the ASSC wished to link a page to the Parish Council’s website concerning their land development project.
